A lot of people thought the Skunk Ape was a hoax. They said it cheapened my business. Made me look like some kind of flim-flam man, out to take advantage of tourists. That's not my intention at all.

Trail Lakes Campground sits on 30 acres surrounded by the Big Cypress National Preserve and is at the same location as the Skunk Ape Research Headquarters. We have 150 sites and most are lakefront, gift shop and wildlife exhibit. Campground Amenities: hot showers, ice, laundry, pets on leash, picnic area, picnic shelter, picnic tables, campfires permitted, concessions, dump station, electric/30 amp, pull thru sites. Exhibit open 7 AM-7 PM, 7 days a week. Meet Rick Scholle, Animal Handler and hold a baby alligator, gander at his 17' python and huge adult gators.
